Flavorful, Warming Aroma
Allspice berries are the unripe fruit of the Pimenta tree. They are also known as Jamaican pepper and for good reason; it's native to the warmer climates and is a key ingredient in Jamaican cooking. These berries were giving the name allspice in English as they seem to give the aromas of cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove all at once!
Use allspice berries to add a savory or warming component to soups, stews, and gamey meats. Or it is delicious when combined with sweeter flavors as in cakes, desserts, and more!
